Royal Enfield, a revered name in the motorcycle industry, has steadily grown into one of the most prominent motorcycle manufacturers globally. Progress Towards the 2025 Electric Motorcycle Release

Royal Enfield has set its sights on releasing its inaugural electric motorcycle in 2025. Recent reports from The Hindu Business Line confirm that the company is making significant progress towards this goal. While venturing into electric mobility, Royal Enfield remains committed to its internal combustion offerings, planning to introduce new models to adapt to evolving market demands. Their electric vehicle initiative is rooted in creating distinctive, high-performance, and enjoyable-to-ride electric motorcycles while staying true to the Royal Enfield spirit.

Dedicated Efforts in Electric Vehicle Development

To achieve this vision, Royal Enfield has established a dedicated division for its electric vehicle operations, emphasizing substantial investments. The company’s approach includes forming a specialized team and appointing Mario Alvisi, a former Ducati executive, as the Chief Growth Officer, bolstering their electric vehicle business. With nearly 100 team members dedicated to engineering and commercial aspects, Royal Enfield aims to not only introduce an electric motorcycle but also establish a competitive electric vehicle enterprise.

Strategic Investment and Collaborations

In a strategic move, Eicher Motors, Royal Enfield’s parent company, has invested in Stark Future, a Spanish electric mobility firm. This strategic partnership paves the way for mutual collaborations, leveraging each other’s strengths. Regarding the supply chain, Royal Enfield will continue to depend on imports for specific components like battery cells. However, for most essential components, they are either manufacturing in-house or partnering with supply chain providers. Currently, the company has onboarded 11-12 new suppliers and is exploring additional potential suppliers to support their electric vehicle endeavors.
