The Zero Motorcycles “Design the Future” development program, which brings together some of the most creative designers and engineers in the field to push the limits of what is possible with electric motorcycles, has added the SR-X as its newest member.

Bill Webb, who oversees Massive Design, once again played a significant part in Zero’s future-focused strategy. The iconic FXE motorbike and the Zero SM, a concept motorcycle that inspired it, were both created by Webb. The SR-X is the most recent illustration of both his forward-thinking design and Zero’s dedication to innovation. This semi-faired concept bike flaunts performance and style while showcasing Zero’s market-leading electric drivetrain.

The two companies reimagined the future of powersports with this stunning custom fabrication built from a stock SR/S premium electric motorcycle.

The SR-X concept bike, according to Bill Webb, “strives to achieve a design sweet spot for the immediate future of electric motorbikes, blending clean, lines and rigorous design-detailing with the aggressive attitude and raw performance sense found in modern litre bikes.”

In order to produce a sportbike that defies categorization, Zero Motorcycles set out to develop a daring, new type. The front-end style, which is totally wind-protected, was where designers began. The bike’s sides eventually took the appearance of a single, flowing piece with bodywork that discreetly covered the rider.

Its design is contrasted with the exposed mechanicals in the back of the bike, giving the SR-X the appearance of a low-slung “fighter-jet” silhouette. It like two bikes smashed together into one dangerous contraption. We wanted to include the bare bike below because the SR/S chassis and mechanicals that Zero created are stunning to look at. The SR-X has an aggressive posture thanks to its huge rear tire and short tail. This device might be referred to as a Streetfighter in more ways than one because it runs on emissions-free energy.

Brian Wismann, VP of Product Development at Zero Motorcycles

“When Bill originally released his Mono-Racr design in digital form several years ago, I realized instantly that the design language based on clean, simple forms would be a natural marriage for an electric motorcycle,” said Brian Wismann, VP of Product Development at Zero Bikes. I’m thrilled that, with the SR-X Concept, we were able to carry out Bill’s vision for our electric sportbike platform.

Same cutting-edge ZF75-10 electric motor and ZF17.3 lithium-ion battery used in Zero’s other models power the motorcycle. Zero is eager to see how this concept bike will advance the field’s future and continue to push the limits of what is conceivable.
