RTR Motorcycles, a startup in the electric motorcycle industry, is set to make waves with its latest premium electric model, the 799e Scrambler. The announcement has caused a buzz in the electric motorcycle news, with enthusiasts eagerly waiting for the pre-sale launch of the model on RTR’s website. Inspired by the iconic Retrorides by Lourenço, the 799e Scrambler captures the spirit of “handcrafted by hand ” with an opportunity for customization to match the rider’s custom DNA.

With the launch of the scrambler, RTR Motorcycles’ first-ever electric motorcycle, the company is poised to make a statement in the electric OEM market. RTR was founded by Gustavo Lourenço, a well-known custom motorcycle maker with more than 30 years of experience. He previously lead the trailblazer brand: Retrorides. In order to decarbonize one of his favorite things in the world and to include riders in the voyage, Lourenço decided to build an electric motorcycle

The electric scrambler, which is currently undergoing a homologation process in Brazil, is RTR’s premier electric motorcycle model. The company hopes to begin shipping the bikes to customers in December 2023, assuming all goes as planned. On TR’s website, the motorcycle is up for pre-order, but no pricing details are provided. A digital form can be filled out by interested parties to request additional information.

RTR Motorcycles 799e Electric OEM Specifications: Top Speed, Storage, etc.

An 8-kilowatt motor powers the scrambler, which has a top speed of 127 kilometers per hour (just under 79 mph). It can be charged using a typical household outlet in about five hours and has a range of roughly 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) on a single charge. The bike’s lithium-ion battery pack has a capacity of a 7.7-kilowatt hour lithium-ion unit, and like most electric bikes, it lacks a clutch. 

The Scrambler boasts a range of up to 120 km on a single charge, powered by a 7.7-kilowatt-hour battery pack that fits neatly into the retro-modern skid plate that surrounds the leading corner. A nice touch is the 7-liter glove compartment that doubles up as an onboard storage compartment for small items, while also having the ability for easy phone charging on the go. The premium electric model is built with noble materials that do not harm the environment and is designed to be upgradable for future enhancements. The 799e has a 7-liter glove compartment that riders are able to choose for customization, and the battery pack is strategically placed for weight balance. 

The RT 799e scrambler doesn’t yet have full specifications, but it does have a convenient digital display and a USB port for quick phone charging on the road. Additionally, there is an onboard storage space for small goods, albeit the space’s precise dimensions are unknown. RTR claims that the motorcycle may be customized, which is likely to fascinate potential customers.
