The Conversion Project

Moto Design Garage, a renowned name in the world of motorcycle customization, recently undertook a fascinating project – the conversion of a 1958 Zundapp Bella 154 into an electric motorcycle. Crafting an Authentic Look

The client who commissioned this unique project had already given the Zundapp Bella 154 a fresh coat of paint, preserving its classic appearance. However, Moto Design Garage took the authenticity to the next level by crafting and upholstering a new seat that perfectly matched the original look of the motorcycle. This dedication to maintaining the bike’s vintage charm set the stage for the rest of the conversion.

Powering Up with Precision

To bring this classic beauty into the electric age, the team at Moto Design Garage installed a QS 138 70H v3 motor and a 40AH 72v battery. What sets this conversion apart is the meticulous design of custom brackets that securely affixed the motor in its ideal location. This engineering feat allowed them to keep the drivetrain’s placement as close as possible to the bike’s initial design, ensuring a seamless transition to electric power.

Enhanced Performance

With the electric motor in place, the 1958 Zundapp Bella 154 gained remarkable performance improvements. The addition of a 3-gear transmission system enables smoother and more versatile riding. The electric powertrain propels the motorcycle to a maximum speed of nearly 60 MPH, a significant upgrade from its original capabilities. This enhanced performance ensures that riders can enjoy the thrill of the open road with modern-day convenience.

Illuminating the Future with LEDs

In keeping with the spirit of modernization, every light on the Zundapp Bella 154 has been upgraded to energy-efficient LEDs. This not only enhances visibility and safety but also adds a contemporary touch to the motorcycle’s aesthetics. Riding this electrified Zundapp Bella is now a true joy, with both style and function seamlessly integrated into the design.

Conclusion: A Classic Reimagined

Moto Design Garage’s conversion of the 1958 Zundapp Bella 154 into an electric motorcycle is a testament to their expertise in the field of retrofitting. With attention to detail, precision engineering, and a commitment to preserving the vehicle’s classic appeal, they’ve successfully combined the best of the past with the possibilities of the future. This project serves as a stunning example of how vintage motorcycles can be reimagined and electrified, offering riders a unique blend of nostalgia and modernity on two wheels.
