Tesla’s kid-sized Cyberquad ATV, reminiscent of the Cybertruck, is now officially available in Europe, thanks to the latest update on the Austin-based EV manufacturer’s website. This electric four-wheeler for young enthusiasts marks its entry into the European market, following its release in China. Notably, it made its way to Europe about a year after it faced a ban in the United States due to safety concerns.

Comparing European and Chinese versions

Distinguishing Features of the European Model

The European version of the kids-oriented Cyberquad bears a strong resemblance to its Chinese counterpart, sharing a 350-watt rear motor and 188-watt-hour lithium-ion battery. However, there are some notable differences. The European variant can accommodate a maximum weight of 68 kilograms (132 pounds), surpassing its Chinese counterpart by 18 kg (39.6 lbs).

Speed and Range Comparison

European Cyberquad’s Performance Metrics

In terms of speed, the European version offers a maximum speed of 13 kilometers per hour (8 mph), whereas the Chinese version can reach up to 16 kph (10 mph). The European model boasts a better driving range, estimated at 19 km (11.8 miles), compared to the Chinese version, which can travel only 13 km (8 miles) on a single charge, as per Tesla’s website. Moreover, there are two configurable speed settings, allowing for 6 kph (3.7 mph) and 13 kph (8 mph) options, and the ATV can also reverse at speeds of up to 6 kph.

Features and Pricing

Quality Components and European Pricing

Tesla’s Cyberquad for Kids in Europe comes equipped with a full steel frame, cushioned seat, rear suspension, rear disk braking, and LED light bars both in the front and rear. This design closely mirrors the adult-oriented quad that first appeared during the 2019 Cybertruck reveal but was never produced.

In Europe, this exciting electric toy car is priced at €1,990, approximately $2,100, with an estimated shipping time of two to four weeks. This cost aligns with the previous pricing of the US version, which was available for $1,900 before it was recalled in October of the previous year.

Safety Concerns and Ban in the US

Recall of the US Cyberquad for Kids

The recall of the US version of the Cyberquad for Kids stemmed from its failure to meet federal mandatory safety requirements for youth ATVs. This included issues related to mechanical suspension, maximum tire pressure, and a lack of an approved ATV action plan, as highlighted by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
