Being a dad means going the extra mile for your kids, even when you’re running on fumes. Whether it’s play wrestling after a long day, taking them for thrilling backyard motorcycle rides, or patching up their bumps and bruises, I’m always ready. A father in China has taken it to a whole new level. He didn’t just dream up a trike with his kids—he used AI to help design it and then brought that vision to life. Full-scale. Out of wood. And it actually works!

This impressive project is the brainchild of YouTuber ND Woodworking Art. In his video, he mentions, “AI helped me design a conceptual car that resembles a time machine.” Technically, it’s not a car but a trike, although with its rear dually wheels, it does have four wheels in total.

The creation process is nothing short of amazing. The trike’s frame is crafted from mild steel, with wood meticulously shaped to cover it. The parts were formed using stencils and the woodworker’s skilled eye, utilizing chainsaws, lathes, and various other tools to perfectly replicate the AI design.

Much of the work was accomplished with simple hand tools, demanding both time and patience—qualities I sorely lack. The trike boasts functional gears driven by an electric motor and features moving parts that bring the entire machine to life. The end result is something straight out of a steampunk fantasy, complete with intricate designs, exposed gears, and dynamic components. It has a Lovecraftian vibe to it.

The craftsmanship is nothing short of extraordinary; this isn’t just a vehicle, it’s a work of art. And yes, it functions—albeit slowly—but it moves under its own power and even has working lights. If you couldn’t tell, I’m seriously impressed and maybe even a bit envious of this dad’s creation.
